Hello everyone, I’m Helen Corvis. I’m pleased to be co-authoring with Steaphan Kay on a serial fiction named In The Arms of the Void. In our second episode, Viper receives an unexpected directive from his sovereign, the Voidlord. As he prepares to meet with them on their home ship, the Cimmerian Ark, we learn a little more about his crew. There are navigators, silent operatives, and harvest surgeons, with each one supporting the ultimate goal of the Cimmerian civilization in their own way.

We also learn something different about the Cimmerians; they are sterile and they don’t touch each other. At least, not on purpose. Which poses an interesting challenge for a romance novel. Do we have to touch to be romantic? Does intimacy lose its spark or just get hotter? Sometimes a twist is all it takes to make the familiar something new.
